Cathy brings over 20 years of experience in research, management and business within the life-science and venture capital sectors. She is the Founder Director of Biolatris Ltd., Co-founder and Director of univerCELLmarket Ltd., Chair of the UK National Stem Cell Network Advisory Committee, Director of the East of England Stem Cell Network, Life Sciences Advisory Board member for the Worcester Polytechnic Institute (MA, USA) and Advisory Committee member for the charity DebRA. Cathy is experienced in technology assessment, market positioning, business development, strategic planning, raising venture funds and private investment. She is a recognised opinion leader within the stem cell and regenerative medicine business sector.


Prior to Biolatris, Cathy gained seven years experience working as a director for the venture capital firm Avlar BioVentures and was a non-executive director to several portfolio companies. She was formerly Head of Drug Discovery RiboTargets Ltd and Assistant Director and Group Leader for SmithKline Beecham. Cathy held post-doctoral fellowships at Max Delbrück Centre for Molecular Medicine (Berlin), Max Planck Institute for Molecular Genetics (Berlin), and Brown University (USA). Cathy holds a DPhil in molecular genetics from the University of Oxford.

Andrew Watson

Andrew brings over 25 years’ Information Technology experience to the Biolatris team. His technical background is in distributed information systems, but he also has unparalleled expertise in the creation of international standards for modelling business and IT systems, including extensive work with ISO and other international standards bodies.


Andrew took a first in computer science and engineering from the University of Cambridge.
